This is a beach area which was a major seaport, but now serves as a major tourist destination. The wet months are primarily from May to October while the dry season is from November to April. You will have the opportunity to explore beaches and enjoy all that this region has to offer.

This is an ideal study abroad opportunity for students who are outdoor enthusiasts. Puntarenas is particularly suited to bike travel and it is easy to purchase a used bike when you arrive.
