Program Description
Costa Rica is a destination known for its amazing beauty, eco-tourism, biodiversity, and warm, welcoming people. As a volunteer, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in a place of undisturbed rainforests, peaceful atmosphere (the Costa Rican army was abolished in 1948) and relaxed “Pura Vida” lifestyle. Costa Ricans are friendly and always willing to lend a hand (or even a home!) in times of need. Slow down and appreciate a different pace of life – you’ll definitely feel at home in no time in this family-oriented culture.
As a volunteer in Costa Rica, you'll have the chance to volunteer with children, the elderly, or on environmental wildlife conservation projects!
United Planet partners with the International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE) for its long-term programs. As a volunteer, you will be hosted by ACI, ICYE’s Costa Rican partner organization. As an international non-profit, ACI has been committed to promoting cross-cultural exchange between young people worldwide since 1967.
