Program Description
We are building a resource centre for rural farmers this summer and anyone interested in getting dirty for a positive purpose can join a team of other volunteers on this meaningful volunteer project.
Volunteers with this program will be able to choose from a wide range for activities each week. This is a flexible program and so volunteers may switch activities from week to week or continue on through multiple stages of the same project.
While each project is unique, there are certain areas that are fairly universal and that you will be expected to contribute to as a volunteer. These include: Site Preparation with clearing rubble, digging foundations, demolition, etc.; Building with plumbing, carpentry, bricklaying, mixing and pouring concrete, etc.; and Community Beautification with painting murals, cleanups, landscaping, planting trees, etc.
Volunteers with BoHU will be able to be engaged in the work done and the local community. With hardworking weekdays there are guaranteed to be fun weekends for exploration and relaxation.
We organize plenty of activities for volunteers during weekday evenings such as going out dancing, hanging out at a bar, playing board games and card games, and playing football (soccer). There are even fun pub-quiz nights with song and dance!
When your volunteer vacation comes to an end, you’ll be tired and a bit dirty, but you will have made a big difference in the lives of rural farmers.
