Volunteer Abroad in China - United Planet - 1-12 Weeks

We are so excited for our volunteers to experience life in China - one of the world's oldest civilizations! With so much diversity throughout the country, United Planet volunteers will experience a culture affected by a complicated history as well as a rapidly growing economy. Volunteers will work in the Hunan province's capital and largest city, Changsha, which is known for its gorgeous riverbanks and spicy (and delicious!) food.

United Planet volunteers will have the opportunity to volunteer in Changsha while residing in the Wangcheng District - a suburban location connected to the city of Changsha by public transit. Our volunteers leave their experiences in Changsha having built friendships with the students and families who they grow close with through teaching English and leading activities for the students!

Volunteers in Changsha, China have the opportunity to participate in an English Teaching Quest where you will work with primary school or middle school students. In addition to your volunteer work, volunteers also receive activities such as Mandarin language lessons, calligraphy lessons, a cooking class depending on the duration of your Quest. Volunteers also have the opportunity to participate in weekend excursions such as visiting Chairman Mao's hometown or touring Mount Hengshan!
