Program Description
This will be a 3 week, 120 hour TEFL/TESOL program that takes place on the breathtaking island of Phuket. Classes will go from Monday to Friday and you will have evenings and weekends free to explore. You will have the opportunity to teach Thai children in local schools so that you are prepared for teaching responsibilities in the real world. We emphasize practical knowledge so that you can use what we teach rather than being stuck on abstract theory. With a TEFL/TESOL Certificate in hand, you will have the necessary credentials to teach English as a second language.
Our classes are small so that you are guaranteed personal attention. We will assist you personally throughout the program and help build your CV/resume in order to find a position.
Our course covers:
1) The structure of English as well as how to teach grammar and make it entertaining.
2) Stages of language acquisition, specifically how students learn and teaching techniques.
3) Children’s interest and needs, and their development.
4) Being a successful teacher through a variety of approaches, methods and communication.
5) Managing a classroom through seating arrangement, detailed instruction, drawing out a response from pupils through actions and questions, classroom discipline, establishing rapport, and other tips.
6) Planning and delivering great lessons through careful planning and using templates.
7) Warmers, short activities to introduce a concept, and coolers, activities that consolidate a concept.
8) Covering the basics of English: speaking, writing, listening, and reading.
9) Evaluation and level testing.
10) Teaching to different levels such as beginner to advanced students.
11) Teaching practice with local Thai students.
12) Improving your CV/ Resume to secure a teaching position in Thailand.
