Program Description
Córdoba, a city of over 300,000, located in the region of Andalucía, is rich with the multi-cultural history of southern Spain. As a historic site where Islam, Christianity, and Judaism coexisted peacefully for centuries, many legendary buildings remain, including the world's third-biggest mosque, La "Mezquita-Cathedral," the Palace of the Christian Kings, and the ruins of the old Roman Temple. The historic walls of the city still stand, encompassing a thriving community packed with restaurants, museums, and flower-laden patios that brighten Córdoba with their wonderful blossoms each spring. Students direct enroll alongside Spanish students at the Universidad de Córdoba, which offers the use of noteworthy athletic facilities and a diverse range of courses.
Our goal is to provide an enriching academic experience and to give students the best chance of actively engaging in their new environment. Students have many opportunities for immersion, from coursework entirely in Spanish to housing in apartments with local students; from internships and volunteer work to activities among the student body of the Universidad de Córdoba.
Participants with five semesters of Spanish language training are able to take on the Middlebury Language Pledge®, a commitment to speak exclusively the target language for the duration of their time abroad.
