Program Description
Welcome to CIS Madrid Study Abroad. We actively work to provide our students with every possible opportunity to engage with the local culture, as well as to fully explore Madrid, one of the most dynamic and exciting cities in the world.
During the semester, students take classes along with Spanish and International students. Academic credit is awarded by Endicott College and courses are offered in English and Spanish in wide variety of courses, especially Spanish, Business, Liberal Arts and Communication. CIS students also go on many exciting academic excursions around the Iberian Peninsula, and are offered many cultural activities in Madrid. CIS has a strong internship program as well as volunteering opportunities for those in search of even further engagement with the international community. Furthermore, students live with a local host family, which encourages them to speak Spanish, and of course, eat lots of great Spanish food.
The program is focused on integrating students into the Spanish cultural through weekly cultural activities, excursions around Spain, housing in host families, tandems, sports and orientation. All study abroad students will take "A Cultural Introduction to Spain" which includes 6 excursions: Segovia, Toledo, El Escorial, Alcalá de Henares, Sevilla + Córdoba, and Valencia + Cuenca.
Here at CIS, we believe in a rich, integrated international experience, bringing students from around the world together with Spaniards to experience and enjoy Madrid with one another. Come study, learn Spanish, explore, travel, make new friends and integrate into the Spanish world!
