Fast-growing Silicon Valley company is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer. We receive 110 million visits per month and are one of the largest Node.js® projects in existence. Our company has six offices across three different continents, but the majority of the team works remotely. We offer a full-time remote job with zero work commute. Your schedule is flexible — only you control your hours. Our engineering team uses the latest web frameworks, technologies, and tools (React, ES6/7, Gitlab, Docker, Meteor, Ansible) and has a strong culture of avoiding interruptions. You will:
1. Maintain, improve, and monitor our cloud infrastructure
2. Keep up with developer requirements
3. Attend team scrums/meetings on a regular basis
4. Liaise and collaborate closely with technical and nontechnical colleagues
5. Guide, mentor, sanity check colleagues — assist in developing training materials
6. Provide regular milestone reporting
7. Learn continuously
Requirements
We're looking for someone with:
1. Linux administration and bash scripting skills
2. Orchestration tools — experience with ansible, puppet, or chef
3. Experience with cloud infrastructures (AWS / Azure / GCP/ DO)
4. A passion for building great software
5. Great communication skills
6. A responsible working style
7. Extreme attention to detail
8. Excellent written and spoken English skills
9. A fervent desire to learn new technologies
10. The ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and methodically
11. Organizational and problem-solving skills
Nice to haves:
1. Experience with docker and docker swarm
2. A basic understanding of code (mainly javascript)
3. Experience with SQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch
