Data Scientist

Our client is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join their team based in Sliema. The company is offering an attractive salary with a bonus system, great benefits, including parking space close to the office.

Responsibilities:

Mine and analyse sports betting market data.
Develop tools and reporting framework to monitor, evaluate, optimise and audit all aspects of trading, in particular to evaluate cases for investment or lost opportunity.
Provide analysis and insight into the effectiveness of different trading strategies, particularly via simulations which will need to be developed.
Monitor market features and model performance, and report effectively on these.

Requirements:

Two years’ experience in a similar role and/or have experience in a similar environment
Interest/background in financial modelling with a good understanding of statistical analysis and modelling
Knowledge of and experience in a database querying language like SQL or BigQuery
Experience in building data visualisations in Tableau and communicating findings to stakeholders
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application (beneficial)
Experience in software engineering (beneficial)
Strong knowledge of sports betting (beneficial)
Be proactive
Possess excellent communication skills and an eye for detail
Flexible and able to adapt quickly to new work or challenges
Good time management skills
Dynamic personality
Must enjoy teamwork and exhibit professionalism in all interactions
