Program Description

Discover the natural wonders of Panama. Immerse yourself in Caribbean culture and work alongside your course mates as you cook with local ingredients, sleep under thatched roofs, and learn first hand about the way of life for this small island community. Head to the indigenous community of San San Pond Sak where you will learn from local biologists and assist with projects to protect the endangered sea turtle population. Explore more of the archipelago as you learn how to scuba dive, sea kayak through spectacular tropical mangrove areas, and even participate in a night dive to view bioluminescence.

Program highlights

Dive among the tropical coral reefs of Panama after earning your NAUI scuba certification. Hone your surfing skills during your final week on the Pacific Coast, and earn your American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications. Gain Spanish language skills along with intercultural competence and self-awareness. Engage in leadership roles and accomplish rewarding physical challenges to discover what you are really capable of.
