Program Description
The Doctorate of Engineering Informatics is a three-year or four-year programme taught in English language at the Faculty of Applied Informatics (FAI) of Tomas Bata University in Zlín. This PhD course provides students with further knowledge in mathematics and the component disciplines of engineering informatics, such as generalized information theory, multimedia data processing or modern informatics theory, bioinformatics and safety technology, etc. Moreover, the course focuses on electronic systems and digital communication. Within this study programme, students can apply for a government scholarship. After finishing studies, graduates will be able to develop theoretical disciplines and use the latest research findings when designing information systems or working with them.
Duration: 6 or 8 semesters (3 or 4 academic years)

Degree obtained: Doctoral (abbr. “Ph.D.”)
Tuition fee: approx. EUR 1,860 per 1 academic year
Scholarship: First-year students may be awarded the TBU PhD scholarship amounting up to CZK 96,000 (approx. EUR 3,560) per academic year (full-time students only). Starting from second year, the total annual amount is based on the student’s academic performance.
