The Ometepe Bilingual School offers first free-of-charge bilingual elementary school in Central America and is of only a few bilingual schools in Nicaragua. We teach kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. We also offer English classes for the adults that live in Mérida, our small village. The first class was in 2007 and some of those students went on to to attend an intensive English course at Keiser University and are now using their English skills in the local tourism industry. Today, the elementary school has its own building on the same property as the hotel and has about 50 students enrolled.
