Volunteer in Uganda - United Planet - 6-12 Months

Program Description

Uganda lies in the heart of the great lakes region on Africa. Remnants of its history as a peaceful hunter-gatherer nation and Pygmy culture can be found in the western region. Volunteers enjoy Uganda's beautiful national parks, game reserves, lakes and waterfalls! Since the 1980s, Uganda has been rebounding from a dark and difficult civil war and economic catastrophe, but its people have worked hard for their successful presidential republic. Uganda is now a peaceful, stable and prosperous nation. Come see for yourself, and seek the source of the Nile or go volcano trekking while you get to know the diverse clans and people here!

United Planet is the US and Canadian partner of the International Cultural Youth Exchange, or ICYE. As a volunteer in Uganda, you will be hosted by Uganda Volunteers for Peace (UVP) ICYE’s Ugandan partner organization.
