Program Description

The state school was established in 1970. It’s a mid-size school situated in the east of Quito. The school is currently staffed by a principal, 21 teachers, one nurse and a school psychologist, all together are responsible for about 500 students. The school’s aim is to provide learning programs that are appropriate to the present and future needs of the children. This is why they always try to meet the learning requirements of all children including those with special learning needs. And the effort is worth the trouble – the school is known as one that is providing a good quality education for all its students.The school has over 500 children between 5 and 12 years. In all age groups, volunteers can help in the areas of lessons, recreation and childcare and support. The classes are held from Monday to Friday and from 7:00am to 1:00pm. Your main tasks are: Support local teachers, especially in English, sciences, mathematics and sports; Teach basic English to primary school kids; Share cultural concepts and experiences with the children, expanding their knowledge of another culture.
