Program Description
Volunteer in a medical and dental clinic/Hospital in Bangalore as a Pre dental, premedical and pre-nursery student. You will learn new skills and help the staff in treating patients. The volunteer will get an opportunity to observe all different types of Dental procedure and know what is like dental care in developing country. Different types of treatment can include scaling, fillings, RCT, crowns, dentures, orthodontics, periodontics, surgical extractions which are common daily treatments at the hospital.
Remote or urban communities with oral hygiene is much poorer than the developed nation. People are very less concerned about the dental hygiene, which results in various severe dental problems. Dental treatment is also considered as a very expensive treatment.
Program highlights
• Volunteers will get some hands-on opportunities and also be able to observe and shadow the Dentist/trainer. Volunteers can participate in any dental health campaign and programs whenever the hospital has one. Volunteers will work under the supervision of a local registered dentist and get an opportunity to know the local culture and tradition.
• Observing local professionals and performing routine tasks in various departments at hospitals, clinics, and community outreach programs.
• Volunteer with medical training/expertise and knowledge in the medical, nursing, midwifery or public health fields (students welcome) can help by providing curative and preventive health services.
