Program Description

Become a volunteer with this conservation project located in a native forest of New Zealand on the breathtaking Kauri Coast. With a maximum of six per group, your goal will be to assist with the preservation of the forest and its inhabitants, such as the kiwi.

Tasks involve:

- Establishing the grid of trails
- Clearing, widening and maintaining these trails
- Bait station installation and monitoring
- GPS trail mapping

The nature sanctuary lies within an unexplored forest, giving you the opportunity to be one of the first people to discover its secrets and natural wonders. The volunteer programme will provide you with wilderness training and you will even have the chance to camp in the forest. Volunteers will also be able to participate in night safaris while looking for kiwis and glow worms.
