La Serena Teaching/Education Program

Program Description

The Chilean Ministry of Education is determined to ensure that Chile becomes bilingual, with first through twelfth grade students being taught English. Volunteers with this program will work with local Chilean instructors to teach English. Placements will be in the secondary, primary, and kindergarten levels based on need.

Your main task as an English instructor is to teach spelling, correct grammar, verbal exercises, and pronunciation. Develop a syllabus and curriculum with the local teacher. While we do not require a TEFL certificate, we need our volunteers to be able to speak Spanish. You can combine this program with the Language and Cultural Immersion program.
