Kindergarten - Colombo

Children who are aged 3 to 6 are often placed in kindergartens in Sri Lanka. This is a crucial developmental age range and so it is important that these children receive support and care. Volunteers will act as positive influences and will impact these children’s lives. Volunteers will participate and assist with activities like games, songs, or any other creative activity that you can think of to encourage young children.

If special needs is an area that you are interested in, then you can also volunteer at a special education centre for children who are aged 6 to 20. They have a variety of disabilities including Down Syndrome and autism. Note this preference down when you apply for the position. These are well-organized and well-run schools and care centres that are sometimes understaffed and who would welcome an extra hand.
