Home for Girls - Galle

This is a home that is run by the Buddhist Ladies Society of Galle. This centre is located about 100 km away from Colombo and is located in Dangedara, Galle which is in the Southern Province. Children and young offenders or victims stay at this home until their situation changes. There are around 32 girls, a matron as well as two assistants.

This centre is run by ten committee members and has a newly built building along with older buildings. This is a great area for the girls to play and explore. The centre is surrounded by tropical trees and beautiful green gardens. These girls are in need of friendship with those who are willing to understand them and take the time to visit. These girls are all very talented and volunteers will be able to encourage these talents and growth.

Provide activities and fun for children
Teach them to read and write or help them with the school work and with the learning that they did before they came to the centre
Teach them English
Teach them to develop skills and talents
Provide them with vocational training if necessary
Provide counseling services as a friend and mentor
Help serve meals
Help staff maintain the centre
Assist with gardening
Teach children good manners and healthy habits
