Galapagos Islands Child Care Program

Volunteers with this program will work in a nursery center/day care that is community run and located in Santa Cruz. Children are infants and some kids are up to 5 years old. Each day, around 100 children come to this center. We provide important education and nutrition programs will meals in order to help poverty-stricken families. Single mothers are often who the center helps the most since these mothers are unable to afford day care while they work. This is a safe space where parents can bring their children to be cared for.

Volunteers will need to work from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM from Monday to Friday and will have lunch provided by the center. You will be responsible for providing educational needs for older children, thinking up recreational activities, helping in the keeping, providing upkeep for the facility, and changing diapers. This is an incredibly active program that has a lot of activity each day.
