Day Care/Children Support Program

As a volunteer with this center, you will help this public facility provide pre-school services and care to more than 170 children each day. Many single mothers and poverty-stricken families need a safe place to care for their children during work hours. You will have a chance to work with enthusiastic children as you care for 18 month olds to 5 year olds. There is even a nutrition program to provide these children with daily lunches. You will help in the kitchens, play games, assist with pre-school classes, and feed the children.

This program runs from Monday to Friday, 7AM to 5PM. Tasks include educational and recreational needs, kitchen help, maintenance duties, and changing diapers. There is a lot of activity and it is fast paced. From December to February, this project will be closed.

This program requires that volunteers have the ability to communicate in Spanish. You may choose to combine this program with our Language and Cultural Immersion program.

These are 100% tax deductible program fees, so please fundraise! We can help you with procuring a visa, finding affordable travel insurance, and planning flights. We are available for your questions, so please inquire today. Volunteers can decide the start date of their program with a Broader View Volunteer (ABV). Volunteers are welcome to arrive any day on any flight.
