Community Welfare for Children Project

Program Description

This multi-faceted program in Sir Lowry's Pass Village is an exciting opportunity for volunteers to lend a helping hand at one of the Cape's most renowned child welfare institutions. With a children's village (accommodation facilities), pre-school and primary school, the program aims to empower disadvantaged children through education. It was founded in 2004 to tackle local issues like unemployment, crime and HIV.

- Assist the house mothers in the children's village with bathing and meal times
- Stimulate the younger children with fun and games
- Assist teachers with pre-school lessons
- Help the children with their homework
- Lend a helping hand with the delivery of Friday sandwiches to children, many of them street kids
