Community Enrichment

Volunteers, regardless of background, will participate in an invaluable chance to help with delicate procedures under supervision as well as to closely observe licensed professionals in action. ISL operates in both rural and urban shanty communities near Santo Domingo and areas in the southwestern part of the island, including communities in Haitian territory near the border.

Haiti and the Dominican Republic are two sovereign nations with completely diverse cultural and historical identities. Although a place of great beauty and abundance of natural resources, both countries are tackling great societal iniquities including the disparity between those who are poverty-stricken and the wealthy. La Hispaniola is the name of the breathtaking island located right in the heart of the Caribbean that both nations share.
