USAC Italy: Viterbo

Study abroad in Viterbo, a city that boasts a lively art scene and a strong university community. This medieval city is about three hours from Florence and only an hour and a half from Rome. You will have easy access to the Mediterranean as well as mountainous regions. This is a laid back community that strongly advocates afternoon rest periods, usually from 1pm to 4pm. Enjoy the fresh produce sold at outdoor markets each morning.

The medieval aspects of the city are clear from the churches to the palaces and Viterbo’s fountains. There are narrow streets with small squares and arches. This was even the filming location for Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet. Enjoy all of the delicious food of the city and really make the most of your time with our program in Viterbo.
