USAC Israel: Haifa (Summer)

Study abroad in Haifa, a gorgeous city situated on the slopes of Mount Carmel and nestled on the coast of the Mediterranean. This is a major port city in Israel and is a hub for tech research as well as playing an important role in the economy of Israel. There are a range of outdoor and sea activities to engage in including failing and surfing as well as enjoying hiking and wildlife reserves. This is ideal for study abroad students who would be captivated by the Carmel National Park. The city is also a major center for restaurants, cinemas, a symphony orchestra, music and film festivals, as well as museums. You will be able to use Haifa as a starting off point to visit and tour around other regions in Israel.

This is a strong cultural and religious community with mosques and churches alongside the Jewish community. Haifa is also home to the only Ahmadi Muslim community in Israel and also hosts the Baha’i faith. Students studying abroad in this location will have many opportunities to explore this robust religious landscape. The summer program is an important way for students to be able to learn about a new city in a new country with a limited amount of time.
