Academic program: May 21 – June 8 (4 units)
Optional externship: June 11 ~ July 20 (4-5 units)

The Shanghai academic/externship program will provide students with an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the commercial capital of the world’s fastest growing economy and to develop a unique perspective on the economic forces of the 21st century. This three week, four-unit program will introduce students to the Chinese legal system, with a special emphasis on business and trade law in China. Classes will be taught by local Chinese professors and practitioners.

Mix & Match • Students may be placed in externships with top law firms and corporations in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Taipei, or Hong Kong. Mandarin Chinese language skills are highly desirable for all externship placements except for externships in Hong Kong, where students may be placed with barrister chambers and the high court.
