School of the New York Times - NYC - Writing Workshop

Program Description

The School of The New York Times is pleased to offer our Writing Workshop, a writing intensive for rising middle and high school students (grades 7-12), which helps students enhance their writing skills under the tutelage of some of the best writers in the world.

Students will learn how to approach different forms of writing and gain skills such as evidence-based writing and interviewing. Moreover, students will build confidence in their craft and gain several key skills critical to future academic and professional success. Are you ready to write?

Program highlights

The Writing Workshop complements The School of The New York Times’s prestigious Summer Academy, offering a focused approach to many of the core disciplines covered in our Summer Academy program. Leveraging the best of New York City and The School of The New York Times, students will emerge with strengthened communication skills, a profound sense of the power of the written word and their own unique voice within it.

Students will be completely immersed in both the classroom and New York City. The Workshop serves as a kick start to the new school year, a primer for enhanced college application writing or as a qualifier to help prepare for our Summer Academy application.
