This program is also an opportunity to learn and interact with Moroccan academics who are experts in their fields. The Center for Cross Cultural Learning provides in this program a half a day of community service that is designed to fit the interests of the students but also the locals. The site of Jewish communities for more than 2,500 years, with distinctive Muslim practice and belief, Morocco represents a nexus of Jewish, Arab, Berber, African, Spanish and French cultural elements and influences. Morocco offers a fascinating opportunity to explore multiple dimensions of religion and culture in the Middle East/North Africa region.
