Program Description
The Middlebury School in France offers an exceptional academic program to undergraduates at U.S. colleges and universities. Students who have completed five semesters of French language training are invited to participate in the program under the Middlebury Language Pledge®, a commitment to speak exclusively the target language for the duration of their time abroad.
Paris, the "City of Light" famous for its extraordinary museums, bridges, churches and colorful gardens inspires all who walk her streets. With over 10 million people in the metro area, Paris is a discovery waiting to happen, an invitation to experience all the world's cultures while in the shadow of the Louvre. The headquarters of the School in France, the offices of le Centre Madeleine, are located by the Madeleine Church in the 8th arrondissement, near la Concorde and les Champs-Elysées. Here, students have an outstanding opportunity for immersion into Parisian culture.
All students engage in at least one co-curricular activity, such as an internship or volunteer work, and take a combination of the following courses:
1. Courses designed exclusively for program participants in language, culture, history, European studies, political science, literature and film history at the Centre Madeleine
2. Direct enroll courses alongside French students at one of our host universities
