Program Description

This summer program includes presentations from renowned guest speakers and professors from across the globe, including the United States of America. Programs will take place during the summer of 2015 in the months of June, July, and August in Johannesburg and Cape Town. The following is a list of some of our program highlights:

• Service Learning Day with Educo Africa (Local NGO)

♦ Pair with 12 local South Africans for a meaningful day of service since children and youth are agents of change who work towards building a positive global community

• Professor Dr. Solava Ibrahim (University of Cambridge, UK) – Director of MA in Poverty and Development: the institute for development policy and management

♦PHD and MPhil from Cambridge

• Professor Dr. Paul Joseph (Tufts University, USA)- Author and Previous Director of the Peace and Justice Studies Program

♦ Former Distinguished Chair for the United States-India Education Foundation (Fulbright program)
♦ Previous president of the national Peace Studies Association
♦ PHD from UC Berkeley

Program highlights

Program participants will learn about South African economics, international politics, and history while traveling to historically and culturally significant sites. Students will be able to interact outside of the classroom setting in fun social events and activities.
