Descriere program
The Middlebury School in Argentina offers an exceptional academic program to undergraduates at U.S. colleges and universities. Students who have completed five semesters of Spanish language training are invited to participate in the program under the Middlebury Language Pledge®, a commitment to speak exclusively the target language for the duration of their time abroad.
Buenos Aires, home of the tango, is famous for its 47 distinctive barrios, such as San Telmo and Recoleta. But it is also a city of wide streets, spacious parks, and squares full of historical and architectural monuments. The cultural life is also distinctive, with innumerable art galleries, museums, cinemas, and the Colón Theatre, one of the top three opera houses in the world. Any student interested in South American culture must visit Buenos Aires, and the School in Argentina offers students the opportunity to enroll at one of three universities.
Students take a combination of the following types of courses:
1. Middlebury-organized writing course
2. Direct enrollment alongside Argentinian students at Universidad Católica Argentina, Universidad de Buenos Aires, or Universidad Torcuato di Tella.
3. Credit-bearing internships
Linguistic development and cultural understanding are at the core of the Middlebury Schools Abroad, and students have many opportunities for immersion, from coursework entirely in Spanish to housing with local families to internships and volunteer work.
