Athena Study Abroad in Koh Samui Island, Thailand

Want to escape the cold of your hometown or just want a way to earn a few extra credits in an exotic location? Study a J-Term for two weeks in Koh Samui Island, Thailand! With both the creative writing class and digital photography, students can bring back a piece of their adventures. Students can get a taste of the thriving city of Bangkok and also the smaller island feel of Koh Samui. Surprises await at every turn to inspire students in their classwork and in their life. Students can interact with elephants, shop on the floating market of the Chao Phraya river, watch a Thai boxing match, or just lounge on the pristine beaches.

This program begins in Bangkok for orientation, then moves to the island of Koh Samui. Housing in Koh Samui will be in bungalows right on the beach! To add to the students' learning experience there will be field trips to various cultural sites and activities such as an arts and crafts fair, the Big Buddha Shrine, jungle trekking, Ko Phangan Island visit, and the Wat of the Mummified Monk.
