Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

In this role the Software Development Engineer in Test would be a working with multiple agile teams. This SDET has the aptitude to adapt their existing development and test automation experience, apply relevant test methods and techniques to support continuous development life cycle. This resource would be juggling with conflicting priorities, so ability to understand the requirements is extremely important. While being a team member, this individual should be able to work independently. We believe that a good SDET also finds opportunities to automate, build test tools, and is capable of automating tasks as frequently as possible.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand business needs and ability to contribute to testing effort and share it with project stakeholders
Create and execute end-to-end manual and automated functional tests as well as acceptance tests
Automate repeatable tests with UFT Framework and Microsoft Office Excel
Contribute to UFT Framework enhancements using VBScript
Help build tools for development and test teams for generic day-to-day testing needs, including code coverage testing
Perform API testing using automated tools like UFT, Postman etc
When needed, perform tests of functionality, security, performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with legacy and/or external systems
Communicate defects to developers and other stakeholders
Assist in troubleshooting issues and defects
Help business stakeholders define understandable and testable user stories and acceptance criteria
Work and share information with other team members
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s in computer science or Engineering, preferred
Minimum 1 year of programming and 2 years of related experience
Experience with UFT test automation preferred
Experience with descriptive programming with VBScripting, Java, and/or Python is highly desired
Experience with pharmaceutical industry preferred
Experience with planning and executing performance tests, is a plus.
Experience with a test management tool (like JIRA, Smartbear’s QAComplete, Zephyr),
Hands on experience with JIRA and Microsoft Office suite
Desired experience working in AGILE & DevOps process management methodology
Experience in Quality Management Processes and SDLC
Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of software solution being tested, specifically
MVC Architecture
JAVASCRIPT and AJAX
.net framework
SQL Queries
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with UFT and LoadRunner
Firm understanding of Selenium, and other open source test automation tools
Firm understanding of .Net Development Tools, and basic RDBMS concepts
Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrate time management as well as handle multiple tasks and competing priorities
Provides a climate for motivation and support.
Ability to appropriately delegate tasks.
Working knowledge of Agile Scrum development process.
Ability to recognize opportunities for enhancement and continuous improvement.
