School Teacher (Early Years)

Viking International School in Copenhagen is looking for experienced Language & Literacy and STEM teachers. We are a new international school opening from August 2020.

It is essential that you are a proactive person who takes responsibility and ownership of the tasks and you are flexible when it comes to responsibilities and tasks natural to a new school, beyond your classroom responsibilities.

You are highly creative and experienced in theme-based integrated learning. You are technologically adept and have hands-on experience in introducing appropriate technology in classroom and game-based-learning.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and implementation of lessons/ activities within overall curriculum framework

• Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe on continuous basis

• Planning and implementing outdoor and extra-curricular activities

• Assist in observation and recording children’s growth, development and behaviour

• Build good, open and constructive communication with children, families, administration and staff

• Administrative tasks for internal and external communications as and when required

General Requirements (Language, Education and Experience):

o Bachelor's degree in Education or Teaching Qualification

o Native level fluency in English ( C2 level; IELTS band 8 and above ) is required. Please do not apply if you do not have C2 level fluency

o Danish language skill is advantageous, but not mandatory

o At least 5 years’ experience in early years in international school is required. Applicants with hands-on experience in IPC/IB PYP/Cambridge Curriculum will be given preference

o Demonstrable experience in Differentiated Learning and Positive Behaviour Management is required

o Proficiency in Microsoft applications and game-based-learning platforms is necessary

Specific requirements :

Language and Literacy teacher:

o At least 3-5 years' hands-on teaching experience in phonics and early literacy

STEM teacher:

o At least 3-5 years' hands-on experience in Minecraft Education
o Experience in teachning online and offline coding in early years
o Demonstrable experience in introduction of appropriate digital technology in classrooms
o MIEEs (Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts) will be given preference
