This is an exciting opportunity in Peterborough for a PLM specialist

•Provides comprehensive application functionality, configuration and support expertise for application software solutions; works with business analysts, architects, technical experts and software vendors on the solution requirements, design, configuration, functionality gap resolution, implementation, support, maintenance and enhancement of the applications.


•Analyzes and evaluates application functionality and provides recommendations to increase utilization of standard application functionality to improve business processes and capabilities


•Determines and documents optimum application setup and configuration to meet functional requirements and specifications; configures and verifies application setup and configuration Develops expertise in emerging application and solution trends and functionality; provides functional recommendations for assigned applications and systems.


•Conducts analysis of potential application solutions, identifies and recommends solutions to address functionality gaps in the application.


•Develops and maintains strong relationships with relevant vendors; works with vendors to improve application functionality and resolve functionality issues


•Partners with process owners, business analysts, systems analysts and architects to gather, document and review functional, architecture and technical requirements and define application functional designs.


•Serves as subject matter expert and point of contact on content, processes, procedures and functionality associated with assigned applications for projects and application support (as needed).


•Creates and manages functional specifications for a given project from which programs and configurations will be applied to create the program, application, or complete solution

Skills andExperience Required:

Elicit, analyse and document functional and non-functional business requirements.

Author and own Functional Specification Documents, communicate these to other stakeholders.

Evaluate Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Windchill solution options that meet Business requirements.

Work with Business and technical teams to prototype solution to gain design approvals.

Work in rapid prototype team as PLM functional expert.

Ensure the successful transition from design and build to the IT production support organization.

Develop positive relationships with business stakeholders to understand business strategy and the impact on current or future processes.

Essential to be able to facilitate working sessions with a diverse group of individuals for different project needs e.g. to gather requirements or to demonstrate software function.

Good understanding of Product Hierarchy, New Product Introduction, Change Management and Release Process.

Broad understanding of Industry Standards and best practices and the ability to apply that knowledge in solution design.

The ability to manage your own work and direct others would be useful, as would project management and customer handling skills.

experience in PLM solutions, process and technology, preferably PTC Windchill for CAD, BOM and change management. This would include familiarity with the Windchill workflow engine and templates, type and attribute manager, object initialization rules and access control.

Experience of BOM Views, MPMLink, Variant Configuration, Options and Variants, Creo Options Modeler, Security Labels, Agreements, ProjectLink or PTC Navigate is highly desirable.

Familiarity with other PTC applications, Creo Parametric, Creo View or Integrity would be useful.

Experience within an engineering, design or manufacturing sector will be an advantage.

Experience leading workshops, driving issue resolution and acting as an agent for change.

Familiarity with CMII principles and working in agile solution methodology is preferable.

Previous exposure to PLM in conjunction with Configure Price Quote (CPQ) systems or processes would be an advantage.

College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business or Engineering

Salary £33,200 -£37,350 (dependent on experience)
