Managing Director (based in Malta)

What is expected of you?

Oversee and manage operations in Malta, including regulatory compliance, office management and finance
Develop and maintain relationship with external providers, clients and intermediaries
Act as Company Director and appointed MLRO
Maintain good relations with MFSA and keep up to date with regulations
Oversee the invoicing process and assist with cashflow management
Maintain and improve internal procedures for effective implementation
Ensure excellence of service given to clients
Act as a reference point and assist with any queries that may arise by keeping abreast of any changes in Maltese legislations and rules in relation to Corporate, Tax and Maritime
Take responsibility for the ongoing application of the Corporate Governance Framework
Ensure all regulatory filings are made in a timely manner and ensure that company records are maintained
Assist the Board with various duties
Review, recommend and implement training
Ensure robust project disciplines and identify process improvement and delivering organisational change across the Group
Implement policies, procedures and controls for AML, fraud, sanctions and KYC risks.

What are you expected to bring?

Management experience within a Licensed Company
Good knowledge of Malta Companies administration, Companies Act with working knowledge of Accounting and Corporate Tax and VAT
A take charge and lead attitude
Approval by MFSA, or have the necessary qualifications to get approved to act as a Director
A solid understanding of finance systems and generic IT structures
Proven people management experience
Project and Change Management experience
Commercial awareness – a broad knowledge of the market
An ability to recognise and respond to risk situations
Good listening and questioning skills
Strong spoken and written communication abilities
A willingness to learn and develop
