Legal & Compliance Executive (based in Malta)

A dynamic retail giant is looking to recruit a Legal and Compliance Executive to provide support on business development, regulatory compliance and intellectual property. If you have the relevant experience and are looking for an exciting new challenge, we want to hear from you!

What is expected of you?

Draft, review and vet contracts and agreements along with issuing various legal documentation
Set-up and maintain a document archiving system and database
Liaise with various external service providers
Provide legal advice on corporate compliance
Ensure ongoing compliance with GDPR
Advise senior management and employees with any changes to the legal framework and regulatory requirements
Support the setting up of Corporate Structures or Joint Venture Agreements
Periodically review and assess risk relating to existing client relationships and business partnerships
Perform due diligence, risk assessment and compliance checks
Ensure compliance with outside regulatory requirements (national and international) and internal policies and systems of control
Ensure the effectiveness of AML policies and procedures
Review and ensure that all IP requirements are being met

What are you expected to bring?

A bachelor’s degree in law or a related field
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant role
An excellent command of both English and Maltese, written and spoken. French and Italian would be considered an asset
A pro-active approach to work, with an eye for detail
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
To be familiar with general EU regulation and directive
The ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal direction
Strong interpersonal skills
