Agile Product Owner / Project Manager – Brussels, Belgium – 9 months Contract – competitive daily rate

Our client, an established IT Services organization is recruiting for a contract Agile Product Owner / Project Manager, based in Brussels, Belgium, to launch a new/innovative financial service in Q3 of 2019. It is a 9 months’ contract. This role requires frequent travelling to meetings in Paris and Ghent (minimum once per week).

According to Scrum methodology, the Agile Product Owner / Project Manager represents both stakeholders and the voice of the customers capturing their expectations, preferences and aversions. Along with the Scrum Master and the Development Team he/she embodies the Scrum Team.

The Agile Product Owner / Project Manager is in charge of expressing and prioritizing the needs of the product using a Product Backlog. The Agile Product Owner / Project Manager has to ensure the Development Team’s perfect understanding of the product and the whole consistency of each Sprint

Main functionalities of the Agile Product Owner / Project Manager:
Design phase and project methodology:
• build the product’s big picture including its roadmap and translate this picture towards the development team
• clarify the need and draft the product’s key functional specifications according to the agile methodology
• iteration planning and priorities definition to ensure the proper content delivery
• defines the priorities and monitor the Product Backlog, thus he continuously prioritizes the key business needs
• make sure that the different stakeholders become and stay aligned on the product to be delivered
Project follow-up and support:
• initiate a priority management approach, ensure the product consistency and quality
• actively participate into Scrum ceremonies (agile retrospectives, demo, test labs, etc.)
• is the decision maker or has the authority to arbitrate on delivered functionalities
• conduct Sprints Backlog live adjustments and follow-up

Key Requirements for Agile Product Owner / Project Manager:
• Fluent in Dutch and French - mandatory
• English – written and spoken - mandatory
• Minimum 5 years of relevant similar experience - mandatory
• The candidate must be able to fluently communicate between solution architects and developers on the one side, and business stakeholders and the other side
• Extensive experience in project management - mandatory
• Expertise in agile methodologies
• Having worked in software development is a strong bonus
• Budget Management experience
• Educated to Master/Bachelor degree level
• Agile mindset (a positive attitude and pragmatism, thirst for knowledge, strong team player)
• Ability to see the overall picture – strategic thinking
• Analytical mind – conceptual thinking
