Accountant in Krakow, Poland

Responsibilities:

Responsible for reconciliation and adjustment of various general ledger accounts.
Co-responsible for B/S reconciliation of all accounts for Poland making sure accounts are reconciled according to policy.
When required be responsible for B/S reconciliation for other DBU BCs within Europe.
Prepares related financial reports and statements.
Compiles, consolidates, and conducts basic analysis of accounting and finance information.
Assists with the production of monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
Makes accounting adjustments through appropriate journal entries.
Assists with monthly and annual account reconciliations and close activities.
Examines a variety of financial statements and transactions for completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with accounting standards.
Prepares tables, charts, and other exhibits for reports.
Assist Financial Controller in preparation of routine as well as hoc management reports.
Co-operate with Financial Controller for Poland in preparation works for accounting system implementation.
May perform less complex accounting projects or participate as a team member on more complex projects.
Assist with any other areas of finance as required.

Skills and Experience Required

Prior experience in accounting would be an additional advantage.

Languages: Polish native speaker, English – good knowledge that enables efficient communication - Required.

Knowledge of Polish GAAP – Preferred.

Basic knowledge of US GAAP – Preferred.

Excel and other Microsoft office literacy - Required.

Knowledge of accounting systems (Movex and or Oracle) - Preferred.

Attention to details and tenacity to get things done.

Pro-activeness and problem solving approach.

Willingness to learn and develop in order to become a qualified accountant - ACCA or equivalent.

Required Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
