Fordham Law School

Fordham Law’s ABA-accredited summer study abroad programs in Ghana and South Korea offer the opportunity to earn up to 6 credits over the summer through a combination of coursework and optional follow-on internship placements. All participants choose one of two or more courses on offer, worth 3-credits each. Courses are taught in English by distinguished Fordham Law faculty and other expert scholars, and entail 2 weeks of classroom instruction followed by an in-class or take-home exam. While it is not possible to take more than one class per program, the program dates are staggered to allow students to attend more than one.

Participants can earn an additional 3-credits through optional internships that run for a minimum of 5-weeks following the end of the academic session. Placements include the Supreme Court, corporations, law firms, non-profits and government agencies. All internship work is conducted in English, unless otherwise arranged in advance, and typical responsibilities include drafting and reviewing legal memoranda, documents and agreements; attending and conducting client interviews and consultations; observing court proceedings; and drafting legal addresses and opinions. Internships may also be taken non-credit, although for-credit interns receive priority.
