Technical writer

Fast-growing Silicon Valley company is looking for a Technical Writer to join our Operations team. Our company has 6 offices across 3 different continents, but the majority of our team works remotely. We are offering a full-time remote job with no daily commute. Your schedule is flexible ' only you control your hours. Initially, you will develop and maintain various specifications and conduct related research. In time, you will participate in, and lead the implementation of, product development. You must be capable of independently leading projects from start to finish. You will:

Develop clean, succinct technical documentation, including engineering specifications
Maintain existing technical documents and keep related documentation up-to-date
Develop, unify, and promote documentation best practices throughout the company
Analyze technical/nontechnical literature for effectiveness, clarity, and adherence to company standards
Conduct internet research for technical, administrative, and other related company needs
Participate in, and lead the implementation of, product development at all stages
Establish success criteria for essential product features using meaningful metrics
Define and document the scope and functionality of software features
Assess potential product opportunities
Attend team scrums/meetings on a regular basis
Liaise and collaborate with technical and nontechnical colleagues
Guide, mentor, sanity check colleagues
Assist in developing training materials

We're looking for someone with:

Proficiency in spoken and written English
BA/BS degree in Technical Communication, English, Instructional Design, Software Development, or a related field
Proven work experience in writing technical software documentation
Ability to absorb, synthesize, categorize, and delegate high volumes of information
Experience with web/app/mobile/e-commerce projects
Background with project management tools
Exceptional relationship building skills

Nice to have:

Prior experience at a growth-stage internet/software company
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
Proven ability to create detailed, thoughtful, and actionable documents, including functional specifications, UI designs, workflow diagrams, etc.
Experience in managing/leading people or teams
Technical writing certification/Vocational training in technical writing
PMP Certification
