Job Description

This position arises in a newly established International School in Copenhagen, Denmark for experienced and enthusiastic teacher for early years (5-8 years old). Our core curriculum is based on International Primary Curriculum (IPC) with integrated STEM education. We focus on overall development and growth of children, with positive digital literacy.

It is essential that you are a natural team player, highly creative and passionate while very patient with children. You are a proactive person who takes responsibility and ownership of the tasks and you are flexible when it comes to responsibilities and tasks typical for a new school.

Responsibilities:
• Planning and implementation of activities and lessons within overall curriculum framework
• Planning and implementing outdoor and extra-curricular activities and events
• Observing and recording children’s growth, development and behaviour
• Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic, safe at the sametime exciting on continuous basis
• Build good, open and constructive communication with children, families, administration and staff
• Administrative tasks for internal and external communications as and when required

Requirements

Language, education and experience requirements:
o Native level fluency in English (C2 level; IELTS band 8 and above ) is required.
o Danish language skill is advantageous
o Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience in elementary school (early years) in either Phonics or STEM is required. Applicants with hands-on experience in IB PYP / IPC will be preferred.
o Demonstrable experience in Differentiated Learning and Positive Behaviour Management
o Tech-savvy and hands-on experience in introducing digital literacy in classroom through Game-based-Learning
o Certification and hands-on experience in Montessori/ Reggio Emilia is preferable

o Creative and truly passionate to work with children while being extremely patient and caring
o Sound written and verbal communication skills
o Great team player while can also work independently
o Person who is culturally sensitive and thrives in truly international environment
o Enthusiastic and flexible to share tasks typical for a small but growing organisation
