Based in Make UK’s HR & Legal Team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Advisor with experience in employment law, to join our well-established team in the South; based out of our Reading office approx. 3 days a week and helping to provide cover across the south region, Oxford, Reading, South Coast, Kent, London & M25.
Under the direction of, and in conjunction with the Regional Head of HR & Legal, your responsibility will be to liaise with Members and clients in relation to conducting employment litigation (including advocacy) in the Employment Tribunal. You will also provide them with end to end advice and assistance on a national basis.

To provide comprehensive and timely advice and assistance to member companies on all matters pertaining to employment law and employee relations either in person, telephone (including the National Advice Line) or in writing.
To draft/scrutinize contracts of employment, policies, procedures and other employment-related documents.
To prepare and present seminars on employment law and employee relations issues.
To maintain a high standard of professional knowledge and expertise by way of appropriate research/training.
To comply with office procedures relating to the coordination and monitoring of work.
To assist the Head of HR & Legal as and when requested.
To work closely with other business units in the retention and recruitment of Members.
To identify and, if possible, assist in the procurement of additional fee-paying work for Make UK
To undertake such other work (within your professional capability) as is necessary to achieve the overall objectives of Make UK.

Requirements
-Minimum 3-5 years PQE in employment law
-Experience of advising clients in employment law, employee relations and human resources
-Proven successful track record in handling a Tribunal caseload and case management with little direct supervision.
-Employment Tribunal advocacy experience, including full merits hearings
