Scrum Master

Job Description

Act as a Leader for the Agile team.
Conflict resolution.
Lead by example.
Educate the team in Agile, Scrum, Kanban and SAFe.
Help the team meet its sprint goals.
Coordinate activities with other teams, ensuring the other team members communicate, coordinate and cooperate.
Guide the team and organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values.
Guide the team on how to get the most of self-organisation.
Guide the team on self-organising to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
Assess the maturity of the team and organisation and coach the team to higher levels of maturity in Agile, Scrum, Kanban and SAFe, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and the organisation.
Remove impediments or guides the team to remove impediments.
Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
Facilitate discussions and decision making.
Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
Support and educate the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.

Requirements

Requirements:

Experience in performing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for an enterprise that diligently applies Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Excellent skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Agile approach.
Skilled meeting facilitator.


Additional Skills:

Previous experience as Scrum Master within a Software Development team that applies Agile principles, practices and theory.
Good knowledge of Agile frameworks and methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc, ensuring that the agreed Agile process is being followed.
