Nordic Compliance Manager

Job Description

Our client is an established casino operator and they are looking to hire a Nordic Compliance Manager to manage compliance for their Nordic markets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for advising the business on all regulatory compliance matters relating to company’s local licences in Sweden and Denmark (“the Relevant Markets”). You will work collaboratively across multiple teams and will serve as a primary point of contact for any queries related to regulatory compliance in the Relevant Markets.

Responsibilities:

Advise the business on compliance with regulation applicable to current licenses held in Sweden and Denmark, or any other locally regulated license the business may obtain in the future
Managing and completing license applications for new available license in the Nordic Markets, or renewal of current licenses
Work with the Player Protection teams to ensure that all processes and procedures and their implementation are compliant and up to date
Provide day to day support to all internal and external stakeholders on any issues around compliance and regulation in the Relevant Markets
Understand, monitor and review all developments within the regulatory environment within the Relevant Markets, identifying development needs within the business and ensure any requirements are communicated and implemented in a timely manner
Keep abreast of advertising standards and consumer protection laws and standards in the Relevant Markets
Manage the relationship with all applicable regulators within the Relevant Markets (including but not limited to Spelinspektionen and Spillemyndigheden) and also with external consultants engaged by the Group
Identify and manage risks for the business
Attend training, seminars and consultations arranged by regulators within the Relevant Markets and other industry associations, engaging in active dialogue to ensure company’s obligations and requirements are met
Assist in delivering compliance awareness and training to employees
Collect data for regulatory reporting in the Relevant Markets
Ensure all marketing approvals are consistent across the group and comply with license requirements, local marketing laws and best practice within the industry
Liaise with other teams to ensure compliance and regulatory processes are being upheld, ensuring full support to customers, as well as optimisation of the services provided
Be responsible for developing a strategic compliance plan, including but not limited to the drafting of policies and procedures as may be required to protect the business from compliance breaches and also the carrying out of ongoing compliance monitoring exercises
Assist with other projects or responsibilities as may be required from time to time

Requirements:

At least 2 years’ experience in regulatory compliance and a proven track record of working with regulatory bodies
Previous experience and/or Swedish regulatory experience is required
Pragmatic application of compliance requirements, able to apply complex requirements to business processes and models
Holds a good understanding of AML and RG concepts and other compliance-related regulations, including local marketing laws
Has an ability to understand and interpret legislation vis a vis the licensed business and the impact it may have on the industry
A strong familiarity with the industry
Fluency in English is a must; proficiency in Swedish and Danish is desired

Willing to work in our Malta office and able to travel when required
