Mainframe DBA

• Database Administration of the production and development CA-IDMSsystems used by BT.
• To undertake all aspects of DBMS operational support.
• To ensure that the business requirements for each system are understood and met, including any agreed SLA’s.
• To ensure that all changes are made with appropriate controls and following agreed change control procedures.
• To undertake problem diagnosis and resolution for the supported systems and environment within agreed timescales, ensuring root cause analysis in undertaken where necessary and corrective actions implemented.
• To maintain and regularly test all procedures for data, database and disaster recovery.
• To provide consultancy to other groups on technical and operational issues.
• To develop and maintain procedures to minimise the cost of supporting IBM z/Series systems, whilst maximising availability and performanceto the best benefit of the business, ensuring that data integrity is maintained.
• To ensure that all knowledge and information required for on-going support is properly documented and maintained.
• To install, maintain and configure the DBMS and associated software products.
• To perform data extracts for CSS replication and support the midrange teams on CSS replication.
