Import Transport & Customs Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for an Import Transport & Customs Specialist for a multinational company leader in the fields of Haemostasis, Critical Care and Autoimmunity diagnostics. You will be reporting to the Logistics Manager.

In charge of Transport and Customs Clearances, your main responsibility will be to ensure the correct import deliveries of the company Distribution Centres, maximizing service levels according to approved budget, and solving any issues related with Customs and Transport partners.

As an Import Transport & Customs Specialist you will be responsible for:

-Coordinate local and International import transport (air, sea or inland). Direct contact with carriers, couriers, and forwarders; following up all the shipments of the company Distribution Centres.
-Negotiate transport rates, fitted to assigned transport budget.
-Solve incidences and issues related to deliveries or transport matters.
-Align with other departments the on time delivery at customers and Distribution Centres.
-Complete the import customs clearance: tariff classification, origin and value validation.
-Ensuring and maintaining compliance with taxes, VAT and import regulations (as Pharmaceuticals).
-Prepare and present comprehensive reports and statistics to Senior Management.
-Keep a constant interaction with Distribution, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and QA.
-Add creative insights and contributes to priority projects.

Requirements

We are looking for a person with the following qualifications, experience and skills:

Qualifications

-Good oral and written command in English, Spanish and Italian is mandatory (language tests will be done).

Experience

-At least 2 years of experience in international import transport (abroad EU).
-Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables).
-At least 1 year of SAP or Another ERP user experience desirable.
-Acumen of logistics and supply chain principles.
-Tracking and tracing shipments to ensure on time delivery.
-Resolving transportation complaints and incidents.
-Negotiate and analyze shipping quotes (air, sea or inland).
-Insurance management.
-Customs and DG regulation background is preferred.
