General Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a skillful & talented General Manager (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Architecture, Business or any other Creative Field) to manage all phases of a project development cycle for a renowned company developing projects and holiday villages in South East Asia and Africa.

The company has open positions in their offices in Thailand, Uganda and Malawi. Each position offers a package of USD 31,000 per year, private accommodation, travel benefits, health insurance, and other perks.

The person will be involved in business development, management of project designs, extensions, alterations and conversations from the earliest stages right through to completion of the project. The goal is to build sustainable, functional and aesthetically pleasing projects. This position encompasses developing a business development strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction and helping the company expand the project portfolio.

Responsibilities & Tasks

Conduct research to identify new markets & project opportunities and perform feasibility analysis for the same.
Control projects from the earliest stages right through to completion to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design.
Create project schedules & monitor project progress (qualitative & quantitative) and ensure to keep the project within budgets and timelines.
Ensure that all works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations.
Make regular on-site visits to check on project status and report on latest project happenings to everyone involved.
Develop a growth strategy with an emphasis; both on financial gain and complete owner satisfaction.
In addition to the above the General Manager will work in close cooperation with the Head of Project Development and aid in strategic planning and development.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Architecture, Business or any other Creative Field.
Minimum 2 years of work experience in a challenging & international environment.
The position requires an independent and reliable person with excellent time management skills.
Strong imagination and the ability to think and create in multiple dimensions and visual awareness and an eye for detail.
Excellent managerial abilities and a strong desire to learn new technology.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and other related software.
Complete verbal and written fluency in English is required. The candidate must be comfortable with English as her / his working language.
