Finance Manager & MLRO (based in Malta)

We are looking to recruit an analytically-minded professional to join an internationally established financial services institution as the Finance Manager & MLRO. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the planning and implementation off all accounting activities as well as MRLO function.

What is expected of you?

Efficiently manage the day-to-day operations and month-end records
Prepare and analyse monthly management reports
Investigate variances against budgets and provide variance analyses
Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts
Manage annual audit processes and prepare annual financial statements
Perform ad hoc accounting tasks as required
Improve, update and maintain AML policies and procedures
Monitor, identify and investigate suspicious activities
Maintain and improve tools that inspect, analyse and report suspicious AML and fraud activity
Maintain a strong and effective anti-money laundering governance
Review procedures related to gathering customer due diligence, risk profile records and documents
Prepare detailed internal reports and assist with any further information which may be required

What are you expected to bring?

A relevant qualification with a minimum of 5 years’ previous experience
An excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
A precise, methodical, structured approach to work
An eye for detail
Excellent problem-solving skills
Advanced computer skills & an extensive knowledge of accounting software
Strong leadership skills
A team player attitude and have strong interpersonal skills
A knowledge of the MFSA & regulations
