Deputy Engineering Director

What is expected of you?

Support the development and management of a long-term fleet availability plan to ensure the adequate fleet composition and highest possible fleet availability for the company to meet its strategic objectives and operational and contractual requirements
Assist with the development and implementation of all the necessary plans to ensure that the company maintains the fleet of vehicles and infrastructure in accordance with safety standards, contract and legal requirements, and at the same time minimising downtime
Contribute toward maintaining a positive and credible image and brand for the company through a well maintained, safe, clean and comfortable fleet of vehicles and infrastructure
Contribute towards business growth in terms of profitability and return on investment
Assist with the development and management of long-term plans to ensure the consistent availability of a team of skilled and highly motivated people within the department
Ensure sustainable and added value plans are in place for the availability of quality parts and components for the fleet and infrastructure
Conduct research to keep abreast with new technologies, solutions, vehicle manufacturing processes and other areas where the company can benefit from a technical point of view and minimise risks

What you are expected to bring?

Be a qualified Industrial or Mechanical Engineer
Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior management role within a transportation company
Extensive experience in quality management
Considerable experience in implementing plans for corrective and preventative actions
